Agenda

3.1 New Residentıs Social

Notification of the event had already appeared in the Chimes. The new Chimes editorial team had been considering organising a social evening to meet people who may be interested in helping to produce the monthly newsletter, so it was agreed that they should be given the opportunity to promote their activities along with other organisations from the village.

Cllrs. White and Offers agreed to deliver invites to all new residents and the Clerk would deliver to representatives of the various organisations. It was estimated that there could be up to 50 people attending. Cllr. Woolley agreed to buy wine and order glasses and Cllr. Jenkins would buy the snacks. The Council set a budget of £100 and confirmation of numbers would be sent to Cllrs. Woolley and Jenkins by 22nd October. Cllr. Harper agreed to set up the Hall prior to the event

3.2 Village Appraisal

The copy of the original appraisal, carried out in 1996, was not included in the reading folder, therefore it was agreed that if an appraisal was to be carried out every 10 years then there was sufficient time to discuss this at a future meeting.

3.3 Victim Support Northamptonshire request for a donation

The Council has been sending a donation to this worthwhile charity for several years and Cllr. White proposed that £100 should be donated this year. This was seconded by Cllr. Jenkins.

3.4 Periodic Electoral Review of South Northamptonshire SNC is proposing that Wardoun Ward should be divided and each of the two areas be served by one District Councillor. After some discussion the Council agreed that Chacombe should be part of the Thenford, Marston St Lawrence, Edgcote, Thorpe Mandeville and Culworth option rather than Moreton Pinkney, Sulgrave, Thorpe Mandeville and Culworth which had a greater number of electors.

AOB

1.         Cllr. Woolley extended his thanks, on behalf of the Parish Council, to Chris Reid and Glynis Rowntree for their contribution as editors of the Chacombe Chimes.

2.         Cllr. Reid told the Council that Glynis had been involved with the Chimes for six years and was very pleased that some younger members of our community had come forward to take over the editorial role.

Meeting closed at 8.25 pm.

The next meeting will be held on 1st November 2004 at 7.15pm.
