Minutes of the Parish Council
Meeting held on Monday, 6th October 2003 at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.
Present: Cllrs. Harper, Coates, Kennedy, Woolley, Reid, Wyatt,
Jenkins and Clerk.

Matters
arising
1.1 Betty Cameron Playing
Field. Litter bins will be installed
on 10th October.
1.2 Planning Applications:
Updates: SNC has given permission for S/2003/1016/P for a single storey garage extension at the side of 15 Thorpe Road and is recommending refusal for S/2003/1114/P on land adjacent to 18 Thorpe Road.
1.3 Neighbourhood Watch Scheme
The next meeting has
been arranged for Tuesday, 4th November, again in the Village Hall
at 7.30pm. Posters will be put on notice-boards and a reminder will be included
in The Chimes.
1.4 Satellite dishes. The Clerk had requested a Supplementary Planning Guidance with regard to current regulations.

Accounts have been passed to Cllr. Harper to carry out internal control as at 30th September.

Cllr. Jones. Response
to “The Local Channel” correspondence. The Council agreed to
continue
with the present system but
was aware that the content of the site was dependant upon
individuals submitting copy
and this needed to be encouraged.
Rosemary Herring telephoned to advise that somebody from SNC would be coming to look at
the broken fence by the garages on 6th October.

v) Does the Council want to
receive the list of planning applications
by e-mail? Yes. However, if the list includes an application affecting the
Parish it will be sent by post.

3.1 Victim
Support – request for a donation
Cllr. Kennedy proposed that the Council make a donation of £70. This was seconded by Cllr. Reid and the Council agreed. The Clerk would forward the cheque.
3.2 New
Resident’s Social on 21st October
The Clerk distributed invitations (35) to councillors to give to new comers in their area of the village. The Clerk agreed to deliver invitations to a representative of village organisations. Cllr. Woolley proposed a budget of £100 and this was seconded by Cllr. Wyatt. Cllrs. Woolley and Jenkins volunteered to buy the wine. Cllr. Kennedy and the Clerk would liaise with Cllr. White about food for the evening and Cllr. Harper would organise tables at the hall.
3.3 Accounts
’02 – ‘03
HLB AV Audit had notified the Council of closure of Audit. The Council accepted that there were no queries raised. The Annual Return and the notice of closure would be displayed on the notice-board.
3.4 Village Directory
The amended copy had been forwarded to Terry Turner who would produce another draft version before printing. The directory should be printed and ready to distribute with November’s edition of The Chimes.

1. It had been reported to the Parish Council that it was believed that the two caravans in the garden of 50 Thorpe Road were being occupied.
Meeting closed at 8.35 pm.
