| Future needs day 25 November 2006 |
An exhibition was prepared in the Village Hall. It was open through a Friday evening and much of Saturday. The aim was to introduce the Parish Plan concept to the Parish. It was also hoped that people attending would provide ideas and comments which would help the Steering Group, as the Steering Group's task, following the Future Needs Day, is to prepare a Parish Questionnaire. |

| The Future Needs day was well attended. There were many comments and ideas that were provided by visitors. All of these are being considered in detail by the Steering Group. The Steering Group thank all those who attended and responded with comments. It was most encouraging. |
| Review of what's happened so far |
| May 06 – Chacombe Parish Council thinks it is a good idea to start the Parish Planning process in 2007. Ten years ago the Chacombe Parish Portrait, which mainly comprised a Parish questionnaire, was a similar event but that did not result in a Parish Plan document. |

| What is a Parish Plan? |
A Parish Plan details how the community would like to develop over the next 5–10 years. It can include any issues that are important to the community. The aim is to set priorities and use action planning to sustain, improve or develop new facilities or services for the community. |
| Who works on the Parish Plan? |
Anyone in the community can help or contribute to the Plan. The Parish Council is coordinating the development of the Plan. But most of the work is coordinated through the Parish Plan Steering Committee. Anyone is entitled to join this Steering Committee. So, if you live in Chacombe Parish and wish to join, please contact us. However, if you only wish to present your thoughts or ideas, that's fine, you can still contact us with them. We get advice from Northamptonshire ACRE (Action for Councils in Rural England). This national organisation is promoting Parish Plans. |
